Finally.

Okay, so it's been really long since i wrote my last post. It's just that i had so much to write that i didn't feel like writting the whole thing, but now somehow, i have found the will to do so. Okay, so Mr.Wood is 85 years old. And Mrs.Wood told me that when she was 10, he used to buy her candy and break the pyramid for her at carnivals, but she never liked him. "i used to dance around with all the other boys!" is what she said. So eventually he asked for her hand when she was 22 and they got married.
I baked the cake for them and it turned out pretty well, they said they liked it. I put gems on it and everything! She hugged me goodbye. It was bittersweet. Then nani and i went home and on the way home she told me about how my late aunt was gorgeous and how she was everyone's favorite and she was bright and her characteristics were like mine in many ways. I went and found these letters and cards organised very neatly and stored inside this chair kind of thing. First i plled out a file. It was my late aunt's college admission papers. Then another file, the accident's case file. I read through every letter my late aunt wrote, every letter written to her. I saw my nana's handwritting for the first time, and tears poured down my face. I went and showed the letters to my nani who didn't even know they were there, and she said to me, in this broken hearted tone- "letters are all that get left behind.". that was like a punch in the stomach.
The next day we went to the club in the evening and i caught up with Janarth and Vrishin. And eventually i went back home. Next day, in the morning i packed and was on my way to Coimbatore when, we met with this huge traffic jam. Upon getting closer we found out that a Sand Lorry had banged into a jeep and 3 people had died. As we took the scene, we noticed that the truck was on the wrong side of the road, the jeep was actually in a field and it was upturned and crushed. The lorry had fallen onto it's side. Nani looked at the whole thing and said, this is exactly what it was like when we met with the accident. You see, exactly 20 years ago, on the 17th of May, my grandparents, my aunt and my mother were driving to Bangalore from Coonoor. My other aunt (the middle sister) was in med-school and had her exams. My late aunt, didn't want to go in the first place, she said it would be hot and humid in Bangalore and she wasn't looking forward to the trip. The day arrived and my aunt sat behind my nani and my mum sat behind my nana. Then my aunt (being like a little daddy's girl) insisted that she wanted to sit behind my nana, so my mother moved over. They were driving and they were on this lonely road which was mighty wide, and my nana saw this petrol truck coming towards them and figured that the driver was drunk so he drove the car into the feilds on his side of the road and parked it, waiting for the truck to pass. It came right at them, off the road, into the fields, and it hit. My nana died right there (from what i know) and my masi had severe bleeding, my mother thinks that my masi's head banged against my mother's skull and my mother was unconcious. The truck driver fled, and it was hours before another truck was going by, it was carrying hay, and they stichted up my mother's eyebrow with hay because she was losing a lot of blood. My masi died on the way to the hospital. It could've been my mother. My other aunt, who was in med-school was called and told that her family had been in an accident and that her mother (my nani) would not survive and that her sister (my mother) would be blind all her life. she came and couldn't even recongnise their faces, they were so horribly smashed. She said she felt so broken and horrified and lost. And then they told her that her father and sister had died. She was the closest to my last aunt who was only 16 at the time of death. My aunt organised the funeral, cremated half of her family. Looked after my mother and my nani until they were okay. Nani still has a metal rod that runs down her neck and one that holds her right fore-arm together.
The Karnataka govt. was bribed and they made the case all wrong. They moved the vehicles and wrote that the truck was parked and was changing it's tyre and that the car came and banged into the stationary truck. They wrote that the car was on the wrong side of the road, and the case was never even considered, there was no hearing.
Nani told me about the seat changing and the case changing, on the drive after the accident we saw. We reached the airport but the flight had been delayed so we waited around for 3 hours and then finally i was on my way. I reached Delhi which was impossibly warm. And thing kicked back into routine pretty quick.
Now to brief you up on the last month or so.
Recently, i had my frist sleepover, and to my disappointment and Moony's, i slept. Cause i was sleepy and tierd.
I had my friend Gattu's birtdhay party a few days ago. Best party EVER! Karaoke! We sang I will survive like 4 times! :)
I've been going for football practice every alternate morning at 6. Exhausting but it does wonders to your ass!
I've taken up a project called the vinod dixit project on which i shall elaborate later.
I've joined the ed-board in school and we're all coming out with our evry own news letter so it's very interesting. Which reminds me, i have to go write an article on mythology.
