The diamond.

It was the diamond that turned into a pearl. And i was the oyster. I wasn't always an oyster though. At one point i was a part of the ocean, I'd sway with it, I'd swim in it. I got close to the diamond. We'd surf the waves together. We went through all the ups and downs. Then one day, the diamond was hit by something really hard. It was I. And it broke. I broke too. The diamond kept breaking. A little bit, every sunrise. But for some reason, i started dying instead of breaking. And over the weeks, i died. Then, I was born. Again. This time i was an oyster. By now, the diamond had broken down into a million little grains. Grains of diamond. And we lost sight, the grains drifted with the ocean currents, and i was embedded in the ocean floor. Stationary. He drifted away, but with some random twist of currents, a grain somehow came back to where i was. And as i took one sleepy yawn, it came and rested within me. Over the days, the weeks, i wrapped the grain up with everything i had. The things i never let out, to anyone. I enveloped the grain in them. And soon, it emerged as a pearl. Surprisingly, it was of all sorts of colours, every different emotion, every different experience, was wrapped around that single grain. And then the moment came, when i was to yawn again, but i couldn't. That's when i realised that the pearl was a part of me. It was my heart. And i had this urge to protect it like a lioness protects her cubs. For i had broken the diamond and i wasn't going to break the pearl. I couldn't let it out because i was afraid of what the world might do to my precious little pearl. So i continue to envelope it with my thoughts, love, experiences, emotions. To make it as tough as i possibly can. So the world won't hurt it. But i know that one day, i'm going to have to open up. And i'm going to have to let my pearl, my heart, face the ocean, all by itself, but perhaps by then, i would've been born again, this time, not as the mother.
