What are you supposed to do when you're saying the truth but no one believes you? Or better yet, when everyone believes you, except the one person who actually matters. I'm sure most of us have been in this situation. I've been in it more than once.
I considered many options. There was the "keeping saying it till he/she believes it" the "make him/her realize that you mean it" the "emotionally blackmail him/her till the believe it". And while all of these might sound manipulative and evil, you're just trying to get the truth into someone's head so they aren't all that bad.
However, while occasionally these may work, mostly, they don't. So what shall we do? Follow Gandhi? Satyagrah? The truth shall triumph? I don't know if that works or not, but it hasn't worked for me.
You know how when you're angry at your mum and she tells you to eat and you refuse to eat but she keeps screaming at you until you do eat and then no matter how good the food tastes you always tell her it tastes like shit? Well according to me, that's what it's like when someone doesn't believe what you say.
What I do in such situations is that I sincerely say what i mean, say the truth, and i let it be. Hoping that at some point when that person isn't in a sour mood, that they will think about what you've said, and if you've said it honestly and sincerely, then they'll know you were saying the truth.
P.S- i found this lying in my drafts. It's months old, so yeah.
