I kissed her one last time, sighed, and then lay still..

That's the last line of a poem that As and I wrote. Entitled the Silver Rose. You see, i just got off the phone with one of my friends, Banana. His grandmother just passed away on Sunday. I asked him if he was okay, he said "yeah, it's my grandfather I'm worried about". His grandparents had been together for 60 years. That's long. You know, whenever I imagine true love, I get this image of an tiny old wrinkled woman and a tiny old wrinkled man holding hands and helping each other move along. Because when you're with someone whom you love, for so long, they become your hope, and your pillar of strength and they're the thing that keeps you going, that makes you look forward to waking up the next day! I honestly feel so horrible for Banana's grandfather. Apparently, everything started and ended within 2 days. And that's a tough spot to be in. He just told me that his grandparents had been together for 60 years, married for 55. That just made me feel worse. They had a love marriage. I mean, to loose someone whom you've loved for 60 years...
I always had this theory, even if you go through life uncomfortably, always make the people you love, comfortable. That way you'll have fewer regrets. Never be on bad terms with anyone, thinking "he has to apologise first" or "we'll get okay, we just need a little time" because life doesn't give you the time you want. For all you know, you might never get a chance to fix things. And you will have to live with the regret for the rest of your life. For example, Banana just told me that a few days ago, his grandmother came to him while he was practising a few chords on the guitar (he just started learning). And his grandmother asked him to play a song for her an he said "I'm just learning right now dadi, but when i can play properly, then I'll play a song just for you". I guess that day never came. I say, don't ever leave anything for tomorrow, for tomorrow may never come. If you have issues, resolve them now. And if you love someone, say it to them now. I'm not saying that this way you'll not have any regrets, but you will definitely have fewer regrets. You'll always do things that you might regret later on, but try your best not to hurt people you love. That's why I emphasise so much on LIVING your life, and not just going through it, because you only have so long until you stop living. So don't waste time trying to fill in the shoes of someone whose feet are 4 sizes bigger than yours, just be happy in yours. Do what you love doing, and what you want to do. Spend your life the way you want to, not the way that people say you're supposed to. Because at the end of the day, we come from dust, and we turn into dust. We live once, and we might as well do what makes us happy, for that is everyone's ultimate goal in life. But it's essential to your happiness that you know what makes you happy, and by the way, money never makes you truly happy. So stop chasing materialistic things and chase your dream. After all, life is like a countdown timer, and you'll never have enough time. So just be happy and content every minute of your life, so that even if you have to go when you least expect it, at least you'll be ready.
